Harnessing Climate Change With Innovation, Says Socio-Entrepreneur Zeeshan Khan

Climate change is a reality staring us in the face and this is a fact that even India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has acknowledged recently at the Vananam Startup Inclusion Summit, held last month. Speaking at the Summit, the FM called upon Indian startups to “find solutions to address the vagaries of climate change.” She was quite emphatic when she said, “Atmanirbhar Bharat is not just for defence or strategic matters, food security or manufacturing. It is also self-sufficiency to be able to transition to a better climate in India.”

Asking startup owners and investors to look beyond fin-tech and software, the Minister exhorted them to seek solutions to climate change, global warming and agriculture. In view of these comments, the work of socio-entrepreneurs like Zeeshan Khan, who is also a famous Indian environmentalist becomes even more significant. Zeeshan is supporting the path-breaking open-source blockchain ecosystem 5ire, which plays an important role in energy conservation in the blockchain space.

5ire blockchain platform is at the center-stage of the 5th industrial revolution, wherein, UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development guides organizations towards energy empowerment. New opportunities are arriving each day driving by innovative technologies like AI and IoT and entrepreneurs like Zeeshan Khan are displaying exemplary maturity in using the same to highlight the role such innovations could play in environment conservation.

With the emphasis back on climate change solutions, as per the government, the energy debate heads into a new direction that would touch upon renewable energy, nuclear energy, space technologies, etc. Experts like Zeeshan Khan are now at the center of the debate around the sustainable future of the world.

However, this area isn’t devoid of its challenges. These challenges arise out of unpredictable climatic conditions, which affect not just agriculture, but also water management, urban living, disaster management, construction, etc.

It is now upto young minds like that of Zeeshan Khan to find a way out of this rigmarole, so that climate change can be harnessed for the world’s benefit.
