Arsene Wenger, Arsenal's outgoing manager, has expressed his wish to visit India. He said he was fascinated by India, that it has a special culture and would like to know more about it.
In an interview posted on Arsenals' official Facebook page, Arsene Wenger said that he has never visited India and it was one of the things he missed in life. “I am fascinated by India. I don't really know why. I have never been in India. And I always encouraged Arsenal to organise a tour in India. We were close a few times, but it never happened.”
Wenger assured that he will visit India someday.
Wenger will leave Arsenal at the end of the season after having managed the club for 22 years.
On being asked what he thinks India would be like, Wenger said, “I would say it is a country with a special culture. When I was a kid, I learnt about the Gandhi and the special resistance, a non-violent resistance. And I was impressed by that.”
He added that India's society is special and has a different philosophy when compared to other countries. “When you look at the modern development, it's booming. These contradictions that I don't really understand in their society, I would like to know it better. I would like to see it myself.”
