Neymar is ready to leave Paris Saint-Germain and return to Barcelona after reports emerged that the Brazilian is unhappy with the French heavyweights, according to Goal.com.
Neymar had signed a five-year deal with PSG for a record fee of 222 million euros in August 2017. But the star is not happy with his current club and is, in fact, looking for a way back to his former club after just a year.
Is Barcelona keen on taking him back though? It has been reported that the La Liga champions have been in touch with Neymar to start the process of his comeback. If all goes well and according to plan, then Neymar could very well make a comeback to Barca. However, there are a few hiccups before the Brazilian can make his way back to Camp Nou.
Barcelona directors, having recently made comments over his possible return, are hoping that Neymar would make the next move. Goal.com reported that he is expected to mend bridges with Barcelona fans who were disillusioned following his abrupt departure and for not conducting “himself in a manner fitting” of the club.
The Brazilian could also be looking at the possibility of reduced pay, and it is learnt that he is willing to negotiate lower terms. At PSG, he is paid nearly 40 million euros, but Barcelona won't be able to match this amount considering the issue of keeping wages under control.
There is also the matter of the lawsuits that Barcelona and Neymar have slapped on each other. Following Neymar's move to PSG, Barca had sued the player demanding 8.5 million euros for breach of contract. Neymar, in turn, sued the club over non payment of the second installment of bonus for extending his contract the previous year.
If Neymar and Barcelona are serious about a move back to Camp Nou, the lawsuits will have to be withdrawn. A club director also reiterated that if the “war of lawsuits continue”, it won't be possible for the Brazilian to return.
