Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and chose to bowl first against Australia in their World Cup match at Taunton on Wednesday.
Pakistan have won just one of their last 14 matches against champions Australia, the five-times World Cup champions. But Pakistan is ready for whatever Australia throws at them.
The team's win against England has given it a lot of positives, said skipper Sarfaraz. He said that Pakistan will go with the aggressive approach they showed against England. Mohammad Hafeez's 84 laid the foundations for an impressive total of 348 for eight as Pakistan defeated England in their earlier World Cup match by 14 runs.
Pakistan would hope to face an Australia side stung by a 36-run loss to India on Sunday, their first defeat of this World Cup following wins over Afghanistan and the West Indies.
Pakistan's last match, against Sri Lanka at Bristol, was washed out. Three matches in total have been abandoned due to the rains so far in this World Cup.
Australia, after their defeat at the hands of India, will look to get back to their winning ways. David Warner is expected to continue his good run with the bat against Pakistan. He has alsready scored two fifties this World Cup so far.
Warner, along with former captain Steve Smith, is playing in his first major tournament for Australia since serving a year-long ban for ball-tampering.
