India skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat first against Bangladesh in their World Cup match at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Tuesday.

India were handed their first defeat in the World Cup on Sunday after England restricted them in their tracks for 306. The Men in Blue are under pressure to win Tuesday's match after their lacklustre performance against the hosts.

Ravindra Jadeja's inclusion in the playing XI seems likely since India's last match. India scored only 39 runs in the last five overs against England, with Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav at the crease. Dhoni has been criticised for his poor show in the World Cup so far, but the team has rallied behind the ex-captain

India are currently on second position in the table with 11 points from seven matches.

Bangladesh must win their few group stage matches for any chance of entering the semifinals of the tournament. The Tigers have relied on all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan to lift them in the World Cup so far. Bowling will be a concern for Bangladesh, and India's top order would look to pile up the runs. It remains to be seen if the Bangladesh side has what it takes to conquer India and get closer to the last four stage.

Bangladesh are currently placed seventh with 7 points.
