SELECTION
Goalkeepers
Tom Heaton is the most consistent performer among the goalkeepers signed by Premier League clubs this summer. The England international is a real coup for newly promoted Aston Villa. Jonas Lossl edges out Sheffield United's Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson by virtue of his greater experience.
Defenders
It was a tight contest between Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Joao Cancelo for the right-back position—the former's raw talent against the latter's versatility and skill. But Wan-Bissaka gets the nod because he is likely to be a starter for United, while Cancelo would probably play second fiddle to Kyle Walker. But Cancelo, who is a substitute, can also play as a left-back.
Though he may have been slightly overpriced, Harry Maguire is the best centre-back bought this time. Alongside him is the experienced David Luiz. At a reported 8 million pounds, he may prove to be quite the bargain for Arsenal.
At left-back, without contest, is Kieran Tierney. Wolves centre-back Leander Dendocker is on the bench.
Midfielders
Though quite a few quality midfielders were signed, including the likes of Youri Tielemans, there can be no question about the starting central midfield combination. Rodri and Tanguy Ndombele take the cake, and then some. Right-wing is also quite straight forward with Arsenal's signing of Nicolas Pepe, though the debate is open as to whether he was overpriced at a reported 72 million pounds. On the left flank, Alex Iwobi trumps Daniel James, thanks to his greater experience at this level. Real Madrid loanee Dani Ceballos could be an exciting option from the bench.
Strikers
Moise Kean, one of the hottest prospects in world football, could be a game-changer for Everton once he adapts to the pace of the Premier League. Alongside him, Raul Jimenez gets the nod ahead of Sebastien Haller because of his loan spell at Wolves last term, where he was also their top scorer with 17 goals.
