India cricketer Yuvraj Singh and former English batsman Kevin Pietersen have often engaged in banter on Twitter. An apparent Manchester United fan, Yuvraj took to the social media platform yet again to take a dig at Chelsea fan Pietersen after the former thrashed the latter 4-0 in a Premier League encounter on Sunday.

“Hey Mr @KP24 very quiet today all ok, @ManUtd,” Yuvraj tweeted, after Marcus Rashford, who scored a brace, Anthony Martial and Daniel James helped United make a winning start to this season. Rashford registered two goals (18th minute and 67th minute) whereas Martial and James scored goals in the 65th and 81st minute, respectively.

Earlier this year, Yuvraj and Pietersen had taken jibes at each other over Manchester United and Manchester City. Pietersen had said that Manchester United is the second-best team, behind Manchester City.

"Bloody hell, by reading Twitter it would suggest that @ManUtd are winning the Premier League & just won the Champions League. They're not even in the top 4 & you are the SECOND best team in Manchester! Will people just SHUT IT," Pietersen had tweeted.

Yuvraj had replied to it saying, "You should be used to the media by now Kp some kind of truth always hurts @ManUtd, go United".

Pietersen went on to to ask "pie-chucker" Yuvraj who the best team in Manchester was, to which he said, "Haha well depends r we looking at a current form or counting no of championships".

After India's 18-run loss to New Zealand in the World Cup semifinal, Pietersen had slammed young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant for playing an extravagant shot and getting dismissed. “How many times have we seen @RishabPant777 do that?????!!!!! The very reason he wasn’t picked initially! Pathetic!,” Pietersen tweeted after Pant’s dismissal to Mitchell Santner.

Yuvraj had come to Pant’s defence, tweeting, “He’s played 8 Odis ! It’s not his fault he will learn and get better it’s not pathetic at all ! However we all are entitled to share our opinions.”

The two had also engaged in a banter over Rohit Sharma's record-equalling fourth century in the World Cup, against Bangladesh. "And @ImRo45 walks closer to the Icc mos trophy ?? ???????? #hitman you beauty ?? no 4 ???????????? well played champion !!!" Yuvraj had tweeted, hinting at Sharma inching closer to the Man of the Series award.

However, Pietersen disagreed. "Not if England wins the WC, Pie-Chucker!" Pietersen replied to Yuvraj, who responded saying he was talking about the 'Man of the Series' trophy. To win, both teams had to qualify first.

"Let's qualify first and then talk about wining ?? and I'm talking about mos trophy not winning !" Yuvraj tweeted, to which Pietersen replied, "I'm sure India will qualify mate!"
