Virat Kohli reminisces 11-year cricket journey with special post

India men's cricket team captain Virat Kohli took to Twitter to share a post reminiscing over his 11-year cricket journey. The post which was shared on Twitter on Sunday showed a collage of a beardless, young Kohli on the left and the present-day captain staring at the horizon on the right.

In his post, Kohli thanked God for showering him with blessings and even prayed that others too have the strength to follow their dreams.

“From starting as a teenager on the same day in 2008 to reflecting on the journey 11 years after, I couldn't have dreamt of the blessings God has showered me with. May you all get the strength and power to follow your dreams and always follow the right path. #forevergrateful,” he wrote.

Kohli is currently touring the Caribbean with the Indian team as they take on the West Indies before playing the World Test Championships.

Kohli debuted for India on August 18 against Sri Lanka in Dambulla where he scored 12 runs from 22 balls. Sri Lanka went on to win the match by 8 wickets. Kohli scored his first half-century in the fourth ODI of the same series, scoring 54 runs. India won the 5-match series 3-2.

Kohli who has been in fine form in the West Indies tour scored two centuries in the three-match ODI series which India won 2-0 after the first game at Guyana was called off due to rain. Kohli now has 43 centuries to his name, trailing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar by just six. He has 43 centuries and 54 half-centuries from 230 innings.
