Unlike most cricketers, Australian spin legend Shane Warne has remained a favourite with the British tabloids for his sex exploits for nearly two decades now. Warne (49), who is the second-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket with 708 wickets in 145 Tests, has been frequently covered for his exploits outside the sport.
On Friday, The Sun reported Warne recently had a 'foursome' with his new girlfriend and two escorts at his plush house in Maida Vale, North West London. The Sun claimed Warne's girlfriend, whose identity has not been revealed, left to bring the two escorts and the group was in his house for two hours, where they engaged in noisy sex.
The Sun quoted an onlooker, who claimed Warne had left his windows open. “He left the windows wide open and you could clearly hear all the noises. Shane has some very posh neighbours, including families, and it’s hard to imagine they’re not aware of what’s going on.”
The tabloid claimed one of the escorts was a Moldovian, who was 19 years old, and the other was 27 years old. The duo were identified from advertisements placed on escort websites. The Sun published photographs of all three women, with their faces blurred, leaving Warne's house.
Serial offender
In 2000, Warne was stripped of his vice-captain's role in the Australian cricket team after it was revealed he had harassed a British nurse with lewd phone calls. At the time, Warne was already married to Simone, now his ex-wife, and had two children.
In June 2005, a sales manager in the UK, Kerrie Colliemore, who was divorced and had three children, claimed she had a three-month-long affair with Warne. The revelations led to Simone and Warne announcing their separation. In the same month, The Mirror reported that a British woman had claimed Warne had “badgered” her to have sex in the apartment of Kevin Pietersen, who was then Warne's teammate at Hampshire. Warne allegedly even offered to have a foursome with her and Pietersen and his girlfriend.
In 2006, a now-defunct British tabloid, News of the World, published photographs of Warne in bed with two British models in London where he was playing county cricket.
In 2010, Simone divorced Warne amid reports he was having an affair with British model and actor Elizabeth Hurley. Hurley and Warne were in a relationship for three years, which ended due to their conflicting work commitments. In his biography No Spin, Warne had described his relationship with Hurley as the happiest phase of his life and revealed he even proposed marriage to her.
