The Alipore court in Kolkata has issued an arrest warrant against Team India cricketer Mohammed Shami in a domestic violence case filed by his estranged wife Hasin Jahan. The pacer has been, reportedly, given 15 days to surrender and apply for bail.
Shami is currently part of the Indian squad and is playing in the second Test against the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, where he picked up his 15oth Test wicket.
In March last year, Hasin Jahan took to Facebook to accuse Shami of domestic abuse and having extra-marital affairs. She also shared screenshots of WhatsApp and Messenger chats between Shami and the women. The right-arm pacer was charged under Section 498A (dowry harassment) and 354A (sexual harassment) by the Kolkata Police.

In March this year, Kolkata Police filed a charge-sheet against the cricketer for alleged dowry and sexual harassment of his wife. The charge-sheet was filed at the Alipore Police Court.
In April, Hasin Jahan was detained for breach of peace after she allegedly created a ruckus at her husband's house in Alipur village in Uttar Pradesh. She was later released on bail.
Jahan had also alleged that Shami had been involved in match-fixing, following which the BCCI had dropped him from its central contracts.

He was, however, given a clean chit by a BCCI panel after an internal investigation and was brought back into its central contract scheme.
An arrest warrant has also been issued against his brother Hasid Ahmed.
Shami had a good run in the World Cup, too, this year where he picked 14 wickets from four matches, which included a hat-trick against Afghanistan.
