Tennis power couples at the US Open

At least two power couples are playing in the 2019 US Open

There was a time when tennis world spent much time wooing the power couple that Andre Agassi-Steffi Graff was. The duo dominated the headlines for years both on and off the court. Years later, there seems to be love brewing again in tennis. The 2019 US Open saw two power couples battling it out at Flushing Meadows.

Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina have been making headlines for quite some time now. The two have been seeing each other since the end of last year. Both share a joint Instagram account. Both of them are usually seen cheering each other on during their respective matches and have never been shy about their relationship.During an interview to a leading news outlet, Svitolina said that she didn't see a point in trying to hide their relationship especially since they were both famous sports personalities.

Monfils lost in the quarterfinals at the US Open in a five-set thriller against Italy's Berrettini who will now face Dimitrov in the semifinals. Svitolina is through to the semifinals of the US Open where she will now face Serena Williams.

Dominic Thiem and Kristina Mladenovic have been seeing each other since 2017. The couple have also been quite open about their relationship through their Instagram profiles. The duo were earlier revealed to have started dating since the 2018 French Open when Mladenovic was sported cheering for the Austrian from his box.

Theim had a short stint at Flushing Meadows this year after he was knocked out in the first round by Thomas Fabbiano in four sets. Mladenovic, too, lost albeit in the quarterfinal of her women's doubles match against Barty and Azarenka. Mladenovic is a former handball player and an Olympic gold medallist for former Yugoslavia.
