India have decided to enforce the follow-on on South Africa on day four of the second Test match in Pune on Sunday. This is the first time India have enforced the follow-on on the Proteas.
Keshav Maharaj and Vernon Philander gave trouble to the Indian bowlers on the third day with their 109-run partnership on the ninth wicket, South Africa's third highest in the series. However, the duo could not stop India from taking a massive 326-run lead when the visitors were bowled out for 275 on the third day.
India scored a mammoth 601 for 5 as skipper Virat Kohli hit an impressive 254 and Ravindra Jadeja contributed 91 before declaring their innings.

South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis (64) and Quinton de Kock (31) fought hard to give the Proteas a boost with their 75-run partnership, but failed to take forward the momentum as R. Ashwin struck to remove de Kock. Ashwin had the best figures of four for 69 in 28.4 overs.
India bowled South Africa out in the later half of the third day, first removing Maharaj and then Kagiso Rabada.
This is the seventh time that Kohli has enforced a follow on during his tenure as Test captain, out of which India has won on four occasions while two matches ended in a draw.
