It might sound cliched, but in India where cricket is a religion, cricketers are revered as gods. And every now and then, a fan comes up with a unique offering for his or her idol.
Ahead of the first T20I between India and Sri Lanka in Guwahati, India skipper Virat Kohli got a pleasant surprise when he was given his portrait made by a fan from old and discarded mobile phones and electronic parts.
Rahul Pareekh, a die-hard Kohli fan from Guwahati, took three days and three nights to finish it. The BCCI shared the video of the interaction between Kohli and Rahul, and posted it on its social media pages. “Portrait of @virat.kohli using old phones. How is this for fan love!" the BCCI captioned it.
Kohli was impressed with the portrait and he signed it for Rahul.
The start of the first T20I was delayed because of rain. The match marks the return of Shikhar Dhawan and Jasprit Bumrah, both of who have recovered from injuries.
Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl.
