Since sporting events across the world came to a grounding halt with the outbreak of the coronavirus, sportspersons are increasingly taking to social media to announce donations, throw challenges and even display some of their skills while also asking their fans and followers to stay indoors to contain the spread of COVID-19.
India cricketer Ravindra Jadeja is known for his “sword wielding” celebrations every time he reaches a milestone on the cricket field. During the nationwide lockdown, Jadeja took to Twitter to show off his skills with a real sword and entertain his fans as he stayed indoors.
“A “SWORD” MAY LOOSE IT’S SHINE,BUT WOULD NEVER DISOBEY IT’S MASTER. #rajputboy (sic),” Jadeja tweeted along with the video.

Australian cricketer David Warner commented on the video, saying, “Haha how good.” The official Twitter account of Chennai Super Kings also commented, “Bahubali paatu, Chennai Super Shorts'u! #WhistlePodu.”
However, some of Jadeja’s followers pointed out to him that the Rajputs never won any major battle.
All major sporting events have either been cancelled or postponed because of the coronavirus situation. The Indian Premier League, which was scheduled to begin on March 29, was shifted to April 15, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India is yet to take a decision to postpone the tournament indefinitely due to the lockdown imposed in the country.
The pandemic has wreaked havoc across the world as more than 1.8 million people have been affected by the deadly virus, and over 114,000 people have died.
In India, more than 9,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 has been reported, with a little over 300 deaths.
