The Indian Premier League teams have arrived in the United Arab Emirates two weeks before the start of the T20 cricket extravaganza. Chennai Super Kings were one of the first teams to reach the UAE and players have already given sneak peek into what they have been up to since their arrival.
CSK’s Ravindra Jadeja is already in training mode as the all-rounder was seen working out with dumbbells to a Malayalam song. The Chennai team’s Instagram account posted the video, captioning it, “You know you’re in Dubai when you work out to Mallu songs!”
The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League will be played in the UAE from September 19, with the inaugural match being played between Chennai Supe Kings and defending champions Mumbai Indians.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 IPL was postponed and then shifted to the UAE, where the tournament will be held across three venues—Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
The IPL final will be played on November 10.
Chennai Super Kings, who finished last year as runners-up, will look to take a shot at the title this year, especially since captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15. His CSK teammate Suresh Raina also announced his retirement on the same day.
