Indian wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha was in the news on Saturday for criticising coach Rahul Dravid and BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly. Saha was dropped from the Indian Test side for the two-match series against Sri Lanka. Saha claimed Ganguly had assured him, purportedly about his place in the team, as long as the latter was at the “helm of the BCCI”. Saha alleged Dravid had advised him to consider retirement.

However, by night time on Saturday, Saha was courting controversy for a different reason. Saha shared a screenshot of a chat on a social media app, purportedly with a journalist.

In the transcript, the person sending messages is seen requesting Saha for an interview. The sender appears to allege Saha was trying to “choose 11 journalists, which is not the best... Choose whoever can help the most”. Interestingly, the sender claims “they (referring to BCCI) choose one wicket-keeper... whoever is the best”.

The sender criticises Saha for refusing an interview and declares “Never again will I interview you. I don't take insults kindly. And I will remember this.”
