Hardik Pandya who began his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians in 2015 is discussing his return to the five-time champions after leaving Gujarat Titans, said reports.

The trade, believed to be the biggest trade in IPL, is expected to be a cash-only transfer deal wherein Mumbai Indians would pay Rs 15 crore to Pandya, according to ESPNcricinfo.

He might also receive 50 per cent of the undisclosed fee that Mumbai will pay the Titans.

Under Pandya, the Titans came out as champions in 2022 and as runners-up this year. When he was with Mumbai Indians, the team won the title in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020.

He has amassed 2,309 runs in 123 matches. He has also scored 53 wickets in total.

This is not the first time IPL team skippers were traded. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane left Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals respectively to join Delhi Capitals.
