Earlier this week, former Liverpool and Bayern Munich attacker Sadio Mane tied the knot. Not much was known about the Senegal superstar's wife Aisha Tamba at the time of their wedding. However, a video has now gone viral on the internet in which Aisha was seen being received and congratulated by a large number of people at her school grounds after the ceremony.
According to multiple reports, 18-year-old Aisha Tamba is a baccalaureate student at a school in Mbao -- a town not far from the national capital of Dakar. Senegalese students enrol for baccalaureate after completing their secondary school education, the Daily Mail reported.
In the viral video, the young woman was seen surprised by the reception that awaited her a day after her marriage to Mane. She blushed and laughed from what appeared to be a balcony as the crowd cheered and sang for her. She gently waved at the happy crowd in acknowledgement of their love, the video showed.
She was addressed 'Madame Sadio Mane' by the crowd, reports said.
Sadio Mane, 31, the most decorated star of the Senegalese golden generation that lifted the AFCON Africa Cup of Nations, is a hero outside the field as well. He is adored by his countrymen for his humanitarian and welfare activities. Mane has spent his assets to develop the basic infrastructure in his homeland, building hospitals and schools for the less fortunate people of his country.
This public image that the Al-Nassr winger enjoys was reflected in the warm reception his better half received on her return to school.
It was on January 7 in Dakar's Keur Massar that Mane and Aisha got married in a religious ceremony. The marriage took place in Aisha's home and was attended by family and close friends, the Daily Mail added. According to local media, the two families had agreed on the marriage a while ago but decided to wait until she turned 18 and finish her studies.
