In an emotional writeup on social media, the batter expressed his gratitude towards the late canine for the happy memories it gave his family.
"It’s with great sadness at the ripe old age of 16 we have had to say goodbye to our beloved Sandy girl. Adopted at 8 yrs of age, she came into our lives and we will forever be grateful for the happy memories she gave us as a family. Miss ya girl. Rest easy," Williamson's Instagram post accompanied by a couple of the dog's photos read.
The New Zealand skipper had often shared images and videos of Sandy on social media. During the pandemic era, Williamson shared a video in which Sandy was seen taking a catch at slip at their backyard.
