In a tragic incident, a footballer died after being struck by lightning during a match in Indonesia. He was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.
The 35-year-old footballer, identified as Septain Raharja, was playing in a friendly match between FC Bandung and FBI Subang at the Siliwangi Stadium in Bandung, West Java, on February 10, when tragedy struck.
A video of the incident doing the rounds on social media, shows Raharja collapsing on the field after a lightning bolt strikes him during the match.
It is, reportedly, the second such instance in the past 12 months. A teen footballer suffered a cardiac arrest after being struck by lightning during the Soeratin U-13 Cup in Bojonegoro, East Java. The doctors were, however, able to revive the teenager.
