Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar was all praise for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as they announced their retirement after India’s historic T20 World Cup win.

Sachin praised Virat Kohli as a true champion of cricket and Rohit Sharma as an exceptional talent. “@ImRo45, I’ve witnessed your evolution from a promising youngster to a World Cup-winning captain from close quarters. Your unwavering commitment & exceptional talent have brought immense pride to the nation. Leading India to a T20 World Cup victory is the perfect culmination of your stellar career. Well done, Rohit!”Tendulkar tweeted.

Sachin said Virat Kohli proved he was truly one of the greats of the gentleman's game. “@imVkohli, you have been a true champion of this sport. You may have had a rough time earlier in the tournament, but last night you proved why you’re truly one of the greats of the gentleman's game. Competing in six World Cups and clinching victory in the last one is an experience I know well. I hope to see you continue winning matches for India in the longer formats of the game,” he said.

India's agonising 11-year wait for a global title was brought to an end by Virat Kohli's ingenuity and Rohit Sharma's inspirational captaincy as the star-studded team outwitted eternal bridesmaids South Africa by seven runs in a see-saw final to lift its second T20 World Cup trophy at Barbados on Saturday.
