India have sent a 117-member strong contingent for the Paris Olympics 2024 -- only second to the Tokyo contingent in history. No question that the country is looking to deliver its best performance in history.
India's athletic legend PT Usha, who is also serving as the president of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), is named the star who she believes is the country's best to earn a medal. "Payyoli Express" Usha said defending javelin throw Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra is one Indian athlete she is pinning her hopes on. The IOA president added that she is throwing her weight behind India's athletes, boxers, shooters, shuttlers and weightlifters as well.

"I will definitely say Neeraj. He is our prime hope. We are hopeful in athletics, boxing, shooting, badminton and weightlifting. I will not say an exact number. I do not want to pressure our athletes. Let them fight for medals in good spirit. Let us hope they will make us proud," PT Usha told Jomichen Jose in Paris.
Further speaking about the support offered by the IOA for Indian Olympians, Usha said they have made every arrangement to help our athletes overcome pressure. "We have a special team that includes a mental conditioning coach and sleep therapists to tackle the issue," she said.
