Paris Olympics 2024: Hockey, badminton, boxing... it is a mouthwatering opening day for Indian sports enthusiasts on Saturday. Among the Indian athletes contesting on the first day of the Games are doubles badminton pairs Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty (Men's) and Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto (Women's). In the men's singles event Lakshya Sen will take on the darkhorse of the Tokyo Olympics Kevin Cordon of Guatemala.
Rowing, field hockey and table tennis teams are also in the mix of things on Saturday.

Meanwhile, ahead of the competitions, 78 athletes and officials from 12 sports disciplines will represent the Indian contingent in the Athletes' Parade during the Opening Ceremony of the Games on Friday. The Indian group will be led by shuttler PV Sindhu and veteran table tennis star Achanta Sharath Kamal.
All the athletes who made themselves available for the ceremony will be part of the Parade, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) said.
