Vinesh Phogat assured India its fourth medal at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday after pulling off a convincing 5-0 win over Cuba’s Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in women's wrestling 50kg semifinal.

Phogat became the first Indian wrestler to reach the final of the Olympic Games. The feisty 29-year-old maintained her dominance in both the periods to seal the bout in her favour.

Phogat was leading 1-0 in the first period and she extended her lead with four more points in the second period.

The Indian will now play USA's Sarah Ann Hildebrandt in the final on Wednesday. Hildebrandt defeated Mongolia's Otgonjargal Dolgorjav to book the final berth.

"Tomorrow is an important day, will talk then," Phogat told the media after the match.

Earlier, in one of the biggest upsets at the Paris Olympics, Phogat stunned four-time World Champion Yui Susaki in Round 16 before edging past Ukraine's Oksana Livach (7-5) in the quarter final.

Vinesh has every medal in her cabinet which includes three CWG gold, an Asian Games title, eight Asian Championship medals to go with two World Championship bronze but Olympic success eluded her both times in Rio and Tokyo.
