As the end of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games approaches, the next edition will take place in Los Angeles in 2028, followed by Brisbane in 2032. No decision has yet been made on the 2036 edition.

It has long been known that Los Angeles will host the 2028 Olympic Games. In fact, the organising committee for the American edition has already begun working on the event.

In 2032, there will be a change of continent, as the athletes will head to Australia and the city of Brisbane. The decision has been validated in 2022 by the IOC. In a rare occurrence, the Australian city was the only candidate at the time of its designation. This will be the third time after Melbourne (1956) and Sydney (2000) that Australia will host the Olympic Games.

India, Turkey, or Chile?

Finally, for 2036, several bids are still under consideration. Starting with India, in the city of Ahmedabad, the country's sixth-largest megalopolis. Other potential candidates include Indonesia, with the city of Nusantara; Turkey, with Istanbul; Chile, with its capital Santiago; and Egypt, Qatar and Germany, with Berlin. The choice will not be made until 2025.

Note that since 2019, the IOC has authorised several cities, or even countries, to bid together to share the organisation costs.
