According to Variety magazine, American artists Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg (who has been in Paris from the start) and Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to perform at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics at the Stade de France on Sunday.
Tom Cruise is expected to appear with an Olympic flag in hand, onto the Stade de France pitch from the roof to make the connection between Paris and Los Angeles, where the next Olympics will be held in 2028.
The American press, including cultural magazine Variety have announced the participation of three big names: pop superstar Billie Eilish (22), rapper Snoop Dogg (52), a consultant for NBC who carried the Olympic flame to Saint-Denis and has been present at numerous venues since the start of the fortnight, including this Friday at La Concorde for the breaking, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, one of rock's biggest bands.
In the show, entitled "Records", director Thomas Jolly told the press on Friday morning that he wanted to "celebrate this shared humanity that has been vibrating every day" since the start of the Games on July 26. The Closing Ceremony will begin with the athletes' "return" to the stadium, followed by a 40-minute show orchestrated by Thomas Jolly, and conclude with "a festive moment of music, notably with the groups Air and Phoenix".
Then there will be speeches and the handover to Los Angeles, the host city of the next Summer Games in 2028. The ceremony will end at around 11:30 pm local time.
