Iconic Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh would have remained active for a few more years if not for Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former's father Yograj Singh claimed. Blaming former national team captain Dhoni for Yuvraj's "early retirement", Yograj said he can never forgive the wicketkeeper batter for destroying the life of his son.

Yograj Singh played six ODIs and a Test for the Indian team in 1981. It was during an interaction with the YouTube channel Zee Switch that he made the explosive remarks against Jharkhand star MSD.
"That man (Dhoni) destroyed the life of my son, who could have played four to five years more.
"I won't forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son, everything is coming out now; it can never be forgiven in life. I have never done two things in life - first, I have never forgiven anybody who has done wrong for me, and second, I have never hugged them in my life, be it my family members or my kids," he said.

"I dare everyone to give birth to a son like Yuvraj. Even Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have said in the past that there won't be another Yuvraj Singh. India should award him the Bharat Ratna for playing with cancer and winning the World Cup for the country," Yograj further said.
Yuvraj Singh's battle with cancer
Yuvraj Singh was on top of the world in 2011, having helped Team India lift the World Cup, and bagging the Player of the Series award through his exemplary performance on the ground. He was the toast of the nation, until fate intervened and he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, called mediastinal seminoma.
Doctors found a germ-cell tumour located between his lungs. Soon after, he underwent three months of chemotherapy treatment in the US. For many, being diagnosed with cancer would have meant the end of the road, but not for the fighter that Yuvi proved to be. He not only conquered cancer in a year of being diagnosed with the disease but made his international comeback shortly before 2012 World Twenty20.
A stylish left-handed batter and slow left-arm bowler, Yuvraj last represented India against the West Indies on June 30, 2017. The former KXI Punjab captain then announced his retirement in May 2019.
