Mumbai City FC Etihad Airways has signed a sponsorship deal with Mumbai City FC

Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways has signed on to be the front-of-shirt sponsor of ISL side Mumbai City FC in a multi-year partnership starting from the 2024-25 season. The deal means the iconic airways logo will feature on the front of the shirt of Mumbai City FC’s first and youth teams'  match shirts and training kits.

The deal is a record in Indian football in terms of duration. Mumbai City FC is owned by the Abu Dhabi United Group's 'City Football Group'. English giants Manchester City FC, Australia's Melbourne City FC, and La Liga's Girona FC are some of the prominent teams owned by CFC.

The move demonstrates Etihad's continued commitment to the Indian market and Mumbai City's profile as one of the top-performing professional sports teams in India having won two Indian Super League titles and two Indian Super League Cups, an official release said.

“We are incredibly happy to bring Etihad on board as our Official Front of Shirt Sponsor. Their endorsement is a testament to the brand of football Mumbai City plays - one that is committed to performance and the pursuit of excellence on and off the field. Both Etihad and Mumbai City are proud to represent resilient global cities that balance tradition with modernity," Mumbai City FC CEO  Kandarp Chandra said.

The ISL 2024-25 season will begin with Mumbai City FC taking on Mohun Bagan Super Giant at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) on September 13.

This year, the ISL will see the Kolkata-based Mohammedan SC join the league, securing a promotion following their triumphant run in the I-League 2023-24.
