Noussair Mazraoui is listed among the consistent performers in present-day Manchester United and a rare transfer that Erik Ten Hag got right. Under Ruben Amorim, Moroccan right-back Mazraoui is a regular and the fans love him for his fineness and skills in both attack and defense.

Thus, it came as a surprise to many Red Devils when gaffer Amorim declared that Noussair Mazraoui wasn't noticeable during the training sessions at Carrington. Yet, he performs well on the field because he understands the game well, Amorim pointed out before going on to call him the future of Manchester United.

The gaffer said he was “really happy with Nous” as his understanding of the game was unparalleled. Elaborating on his statement that Mazraoui is not a stand-out performer during Manchester United training sessions, Amorim said, “In training I don’t see him a lot but in games he’s a top player, because he understands the game.”

According to media reports, Amorim made the statement ahead of United's Premier League clash with Arsenal on Thursday, that his side lost 0-2.

The manager, who started the Moroccan in all his four games so far in charge, said that Mazraoui is very technical as a modern player needs to be. From one-on-one situations in the defense to going forward to attack, the right-back is very impressive.

“I think he’s the future of our team. When you think about him you think like we need more players like Nous that can control the tempo, they are really, really good and comfortable with the ball,” the former Sporting manager said.

Mazraoui arrived at Old Trafford in the summer from Bayern Munich for £12.8 million.

Arsenal down Manchester United 2-0

Jurrien Timber and William Saliba scored from corners in a 2-0 win, which was Arsenal's fourth on the bounce in all competitions.Even with first-choice centre back Gabriel out injured, Arsenal still posed a constant threat from corners and could have scored more than the two goals they managed from a succession of dangerous set pieces. Arsenal's victory also came as leaders Liverpool dropped two points in a draw at Newcastle United, meaning Arsenal cut the gap to seven points to the top.
