Anna Kournikova was spotted in public this past week after a two-year hiatus from public attention. However, the Russian who lifted the Women's Australian Open Doubles trophy twice alongside Martina Hingis was not in the best shape when photographed in Florida.
According to reports, the former world number eight (top-ranked in doubles rankings) was seen moving around in a wheelchair donning an orthopaedic boot at the Bal Harbour shopping centre in Miami, Florida, with her two daughters and friends. She was reportedly photographed sporting a black hoodie and tracksuit bottoms with her mobile phone in one hand.
The details of the incident that led to Kournikova's injuries largely remain unknown. It was her daughters Lucy, seven, and Mary, four, who were seen in her company along with a bunch of friends. Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias are not legally married to date but are parents to three kids -- Nicholas, Lucy and Mary. Kournikova is said to have sacrificed her scintillating public life to concentrate on motherhood.
