Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu surprised citizens on Thursday with a video of him singing a song with a young pop star for charity. Netanyahu teamed up with singer Eden Ben Zakena and performed a rendition of a ballad by Arik Einstein, 'Yesh Bi Ahava'. The song was composed by singer-songwriter Arkadi Duchin.

The premier sang the song with the 26-year-old winner of 'X Factor Israel' for a charity campaign for the Ken LaZaken foundation, an organisation that helps elderly people in need. The organisation is run by volunteers, all of them pensioners.
Zaken sings most of the tune, with the Prime Minister joining for a few verses in his deep baritone voice. The video urges people to deepen inter-generational connections during the pandemic.

“I am excited to see the younger generation showing up, in accordance with the health guidelines, to help their grandparents, the population facing loneliness and I call on everyone who can to join,” Netanyahu said.

Taking a play on the words of the song, Netanyahu said, "I call on every young person to decide that he will visit his grandma, grandpa or the neighbour and help him get through this time. We have love in us for the older generation."
