One man was killed and another injured after a pickup truck crashed into a Pride parade in Florida. The incident took place at the start of the Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride Parade and festival on Saturday.
There was confusion as to whether the crash was intentional or an accident.
Fort Lauderdale Police told AFP that the 77-year-old driver selected to drive the lead vehicle due to “ailments preventing him from walking during the duration”.

Both the pedestrians were taken to the hospital, where one of them died on Saturday night.
“Today we know yesterday's incident was a tragic accident, and not a criminal act directed at anyone, or any group of individuals,” the Walton Manors Police Department said. The white truck began moving forward anticipating the parade to start when the driver accelerated unexpectedly and hit two pedestrians before crashing into a fence. No arrests were made.
Justin Knight, president of the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men's Chorus said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the unfortunate accident that occurred when the Stonewall Pride Parade was just getting started."
Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, who, initially said he thought the crash was “deliberate”.
"As the facts continue to be pieced together, a picture is emerging of an accident," Trantalis said.
