Chinese President Xi Jinping reportedly is suffering from 'cerebral aneurysm' and had to be hospitalised at the end of 2021. Jinping is being treated using traditional Chinese medicines rather than going for surgery, which softens the blood vessels and shrinks aneurysms. Jinping had avoided meeting foreign leaders since the outbreak of the coronavirus till the Beijing Winter Olympics, causing speculations regarding his health.
In March 2019, when he travelled to Italy, his gait seemed unusual with a limp. On a tour to France, he was seen taking support while trying to sit down. In October 2020, during an address to the public in Shenzen, he had a coughing spree and his speech was slow. This again led to speculations about his health.
As Jinping is eyeing a historic third term, is shifting the focus on the economy, which is currently under stress.
