Controversial godman Nithyananda's nation 'United States of KAILASA' attended the recent United Nations meeting where its representative demanded protection for the 'Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism'.

Nithyananda, who ran several ashrams in the country, is accused of sexual assault and abuse and is on the run from authorities in India.

On February 22, Ma Vijayapriya Nithyananda representing 'United States of KAILASA' at the 19th United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESR) meeting sought UN's involvement in stopping the persecution of Nithyananda.

In the video of the 19th meeting, 73rd session of the CESR uploaded by the UN, Vijayapriya is seen as the 'permanent ambassador from KAILASA'.

However, it is still unclear whether the nation is recognised by the United Nations.

While speaking at the meeting, a link between sustainable development goals (SDGs) and Hinduism was drawn by Vijayapriya. She claimed that the founder of her 'nation ' was being 'persecuted'.

"KAILASA, the first sovereign state of Hinduism was established by the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism Nithyananda Paramashivam, who is reviving the enlightened Hindu civilisation and its 10,000 traditions of Hinduism, including the Adi Shaivite indigenous agricultural tribes," she said.

She also added that ancient Hindu polices and solutions are in alignment with the time tested Hindu principles of KAILASA and has been very successful with sustainable development.

"The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism and KAILASA have gone through intense persecution and human rights violation for reviving the indigenous traditions and lifestyle of Hinduism...he was even banned from preaching and exiled from his birth country," she said.

Vijayapriya asked the UN what measures could be adopted at the national and international levels to stop the persecution of Nithyananda and two million Hindu diaspora population in KAILASA.

She also claimed that her nation has established embassies and NGOs in 150 countries.

Karnataka sessions court in 2010 had issued a non-bailable warrant against the controversial godman, accused of rape and child abuse. Earlier, Nithyananda had announced that tourist visa has been arranged for three days for those wanting to visit KAILASA. The tourists will have to reach Australia and then they will be taken on a special chartered flight arranged by KAILASA.

According to the official website of KAILASA, it is a "nation without borders created by dispossessed Hindus from around the world who lost the right to practice Hinduism authentically in their own countries."

He has also announced that the nation had set up its Reserve Bank and its currency Kailashian dollar.
