The United Kingdom's Parliament will investigate Prime Minister Rishi Sunak reportedly for his alleged links with a childcare firm in which his wife Akshata Murty is an investor.

The Guardian reported Daniel Greenberg, Parliament’s commissioner for standards is investigating the Prime Minister regarding paragraph six of the updated code of conduct for MPs, which states they “must always be open and frank in declaring any relevant interest in any proceeding of the house or its committees.”

According to reports, Akshata has been listed as a shareholder in Koru Kids, one of the childcare firms which would reportedly benefit under a pilot programme announced in the budget recently. The Guardian reported the scheme is to incentivise people to become childminders and £1,200 would be offered to those who train through the agency.

The Guardian reported that on March 28, Sunak, while speaking to liason committee did not mention his wife’s interest. When he was asked by the Labour MP Catherine McKinnell whether he had anything to declare. “No, all my disclosures are declared in the normal way,” Sunak was quoted as saying by the publication.
