Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau once again decided to provoke India, this time raising the diplomatic row between the two countries with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In a telephone conversation with Zayed Al Nahyan, Trudeau said it is important to uphold and respect the "rule of law". The duo also dicussed the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, raising concern about deaths of innocent civilians.

Taking to X, the Canadian PM posted, "On the phone today, His Highness @MohamedBinZayed and I spoke about the current situation in Israel. We expressed our deep concern and discussed the need to protect civilian life.”

"We also spoke about India and the importance of upholding - and respecting - the rule of law," he added.

On Sunday, UK PM Rishi Sunak called for de-escalation of the India-Canada row in a call with his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau.

According to a Downing Street statement, Sunak spoke to Trudeau on Friday evening during which he was updated on the situation relating to Canadian diplomats in India.

This comes a day after Trudeau discussed the India-Canada diplomatic tussle with UK counterpart Rishi Sunak, who reaffirmed the British position of respect for the rule of law after the former alleged Indian involvement in the killing of pro-Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
