A US-owned cargo ship was hit by Houthi missile on Monday. The vessel identified as M/V Gibraltar Eagle was hit by a ballistic missile fired by the Houthis, according to the United States military command for the Middle East (Centcom).
Centcom, in a post on X, said that the vessel "has reported no injuries or significant damage and is continuing its journey".
British maritime security firm Ambrey confirmed the vessel struck by a missile off the south coast of Yemen was a US-owned cargo ship.
The attack comes after US-UK airstrikes targeted Houthi regions in Yemen. Since the Israel-Hamas war, Houthis had stepped up its Red Sea attacks. Several vessels were attacked by Houthis enroute to Israel.
