A week after Donald Trump was shot by would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks, investigators have revealed that the shooter had searched about President Joe Biden online.

He also had photos of major leaders in both the Democratic and Republican parties besides officials like Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Chris Wray.

The probe revealed that he had searched for the Trump rally venue as well as the upcoming Democratic National Convention, reported AP. Hence, investigators believe that he might have been looking for a high profile target.

He might have targeted Trump because of convenience, reports CNN, as his rally was held in Butler, Pennsylvania, which was just 40 miles north of his hometown Bethel Park.

State voter records revealed that he was a registered Republican, however, the investigators could not find any political or ideological motive behind the shooting.

Another interesting finding was that Crooks had searched online about Ethan Crumbley, another mass shooter who killed four of his high school classmates in Michigan in 2021.

Besides his two cellphones, the FBI also recovered his computer and searched his home and car. Besides his AR-style rifle, the security agencies have seized multiple loaded magazines, a bulletproof vest and a rudimentary explosive device from his car and home.
