In a promising sign for her campaign, Democrat presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris leads Republican candidate Donald Trump in three key swing states as the presidential race heats up in the United States. The recent poll survey has also revealed that Harris is leading Trump nationally as well.

Harris has surged to a five-point lead over Trump in a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, putting her at 42 per cent to the Republican's 37 per cent nationally.

The New York Times/Siena College poll revealed Harris leading Trump by four points in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin—key swing states determining the elections.

Reportedly, Trump is “angry” over the recent poll trends with Harris leading both nationally and in key battleground states.

Meanwhile, addressing a rally in Las Vegas, Harris made the announcement that she would work to eliminate taxes on tips paid to restaurant workers and other service employees. “It is my promise to everyone here that, when I am president, we will continue our fight for working families of America,” Harris said.

“Including to raise the minimum wage and eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers," she added.

Responding to Harris’ Las Vegas rally speech, Trump said that she "just copied my NO TAXES ON TIPS Policy."

Trump’s campaign alleges its documents were hacked by Iran

Amid reports of likely foreign agents' interference in campaigns, former US President Donald Trump's campaign had alleged that its documents and emails were hacked by Iran.

The allegations were made against Iran by the campaign a day after Microsoft issued a report detailing foreign agents' attempts to interfere in the US campaign in 2024.

The report has mentioned an instance of an Iranian military intelligence unit in June sending a spear-phishing email to a high-ranking official of a presidential campaign from a compromised email account of a former senior advisor

Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung blamed the hack on foreign sources hostile to the United States.
