The crash happened when a lowboy trailer carrying a US Army M109 Paladin Howitzer got stuck on the tracks.

The Goose Creek Police Department confirmed that the military vehicle on the trailer was an ‘M109 Paladin Howitzer’ and not a tank.

The footage of the incident caught on car dash cams and captured by the people revealed that the 18-wheeler truck got stuck on the railway crossing.

“The driver of the trailer attempted several times to keep the vehicle moving but it got stuck on the track...It was a devastating sight for me and my son but we’re okay,” said a witness.

No injuries were reported in the incident. The local authorities and CSX had launched an investigation into the incident. A driver was seen running after the collision happened, but he refused any treatment.

The train that had collided with the military vehicle had eventually stopped.

Portions of the road were closed for an extended time due to extensive damage to the intersection from the train crash. Liberty Hall and Red Bank Road were blocked for several hours due to the extensive damage.

“It took several hours for the authorities to remove the vehicle. The traffic came to a standstill. We were stuck for over three hours due to the accident,” said another witness.
