United States Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris celebrated her 60th birthday on Sunday. Harris was seen dancing to the tunes of Bob Marley’s ‘Redemption Song’ performed by singer Stevie Wonder, a 25-time Grammy winner.
This is not the first time Wonder has performed for Harris. During the Democratic National Convention in August, he performed his 1973 hit 'Higher Ground'.
Harris attended the Sunday service at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest during her birthday.
In an interview with Rev Al Sharpton on MSNBC, Harris said the American people deserve so much better. “That is how I come at it...the President of the United States must set a standard - not only for our nation but understanding the standard we as a nation must set for the world.”
Harris said that her opponent, Republican candidate and former US President Donald Trump demeans the office. “Am very clear about this, Donald Trump should never again stand behind the seal of the President of the United States.”
He has not earned that right and that is why he is going to lose, she added.
With just 15 days remaining for the US presidential elections, the fight is getting tighter. Both Harris and Trump have intensified their campaigns in the crucial swing states including Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona Georgia, Wisconsin and Nevada.
Former Democratic US President, Barack Obama, is expected to campaign with Kamala Harris in Georgia on Tuesday, while Trump will be campaigning in North Carolina, a crucial swing state.
