As Israel is busy fighting Iran and its proxies as well as Hamas at multiple fronts, a video has surfaced from the West Bank that questions the integrity of the nation's defence units.

Released by pro-Palestine news handles on Saturday, the viral video showed Israel Defense Force (IDF) soldiers remaining silent spectators as a group of Jewish settlers in West Bank stealing farming equipment and harvest from a Palestinian family. According to the reports, the Israeli settlers intimidated the Arab family engaged in olive harvest before stealing their produce and farm equipment.

The incident reportedly occurred in the Tel Rumeida area of West Bank's Hebron city. The invaders donned koppels on their heads as they dragged away various items from the land, the video showed. The Palestinian family, including a woman, was seen coming out of their home towards the end of the video.

"A group of settlers attacked the Aseed family while they were picking olives in Tel Rumeida in #Hebron and stole the tarpaulins and some of the fruits. In full view of the soldiers in the area, without them intervening to stop them," one of the portals that shared the video said.

According to the Times Of Israel, Israeli settlers are never punished for such crimes as trespassing and looting against Palestinians in the West Bank. The Israel-based media added that there were no reports of arrests despite the face of many men being captured in the cameras.

Olive trees are a major agricultural crop in the Palestinian territories, where they are mostly grown for olive oil production. More than half of cultivable land in these regions is used to grow these trees. Olives are harvested between October and January.

Ever since the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, Hebron has been divided into two sectors — H1 Hebron, controlled by the Palestinian National Authority, and H2 Hebron, managed by Israeli authorities. The West Bank fell before Israel in 1967 after the Six-Day War. Over the last year, as many as 165 West Bank children are said to have died in Israeli strikes. 36 children fell prey to air strikes while 129 were killed by live ammunition, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) reported.
