Earlier, Khamenei was quoted as saying by the IRNA agency, saying, "The evil committed by the Zionist regime (Israel) two nights ago should neither be downplayed nor exaggerated."
Iranian officials should determine how best to demonstrate Iran's power to Israel, said Khamenei.
This come amid a New York Times report claiming that Khamenei was "seriously ill" and that his son Mojtaba, 55, is likely to succeed him as the next Supreme Leader. A final call regarding the successor will be taken by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
