Within hours after Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei opened his Hebrew account on X, Elon Musk-owned social media platform has suspended the handle.

Currently the Hebrew handle, @Khamenei_Heb, shows it has been suspended for violating X's rules. The Iran Supreme Leader has two other accounts, one in English and another in Arabic.

Khamenei, 85, put up two posts in the Hebrew account. The first one read, "In the name of Allah, the most merciful." This was reported on his official English account, Khamenei.ir.

In another post, the Supreme Leader wrote that the Zionist regime made a mistake and erred in its calculations on Iran. "We will cause it to understand what kind of strength, ability, initiative, and will the Iranian nation has," he added.

Earlier, Khamenei was quoted as saying by the IRNA agency, saying, "The evil committed by the Zionist regime (Israel) two nights ago should neither be downplayed nor exaggerated."

Iranian officials should determine how best to demonstrate Iran's power to Israel, said Khamenei.

This come amid a New York Times report claiming that Khamenei was "seriously ill" and that his son Mojtaba, 55, is likely to succeed him as the next Supreme Leader. A final call regarding the successor will be taken by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
