Amid statements from Tehran that Israel and the United States will receive a 'tooth-breaking response' for any actions taken against Iran, reports have emerged that a US squadron of F-15E fighter jets is heading to Jordan.
Flight tracker data shows that 12 F-15s are heading to Jordan to join the fleet which is already deployed in Jordan, according to Israeli newspaper Haaretz. However, there is no formal announcement from the US military in this regard.
This comes amid fears that the Iranian reprisal may come as soon as this week. The anticipation is that Iran might launch projectiles, drones and ballistic missiles, from Iraq. The flight time from Iraq would be substantially shorter than from Iranian territory.
But, as per a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report, Tehran has informed Arab diplomats that it would launch a "complex response" that would involve more powerful warheads.
The response would come after the US election so as not to influence the results. But, it wouldn't be later than the inauguration in January.
The threats have prompted Israeli and US intelligence agencies to closely monitor the movement of surface-to-surface missile systems inside the country. The US has also ordered several B-52 Stratofortress bomber aircraft, tanker aircraft and Navy destroyers to the Middle East besides sending its advanced THAAD, or the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, system to Israel.
Meanwhile, the new Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah has warned the Israeli regime that it will suffer from the resistance movement’s missiles and drones. "No place in the entity (Israel) is off-limits to our missiles and drones. The coming days will reveal more, and what will happen will be greater," Sheikh Naeem Qassem said.
He added that Israel had tens of thousands of trained fighters capable of confrontation and resilience.
