Inderjeet Gosal, who is reportedly a lieutenant of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, succeeded Hardeep Singh Nijjar as the Khalistan referendum's chief organiser in Canada.

The 35-year-old has to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on a later date.

Peel Regional Police said they are probing several offences of which many are seen in viral videos.

Some of the attackers used flags and sticks to attack the devotees. The investigators are examining hundreds of videos of the assault in order to identify other suspects.
