Pakistan-Brit girl Sara murder case news: Urfan Sharif admitted to having beaten her daughter violently but refused responsibility for the bite and burn marks on her body; all he wanted was to discipline Sara Sharif and didn't want to kill her, the Pak-origin man said Sara Sharif died as a consequence of assault she suffered at home | X

Sara Sharif, the 10-year-old Pak-Birtish child, was brutally beaten by her father Urfan Sharif for weeks ahead of her death in England. She was repeatedly struck using a cricket bat and a metal pole in the abdomen region and other parts of the body, Sharif confessed while facing trial.

Sara Sharif, daughter of 42-year-old Urfan and 30-year-old Beinash Batool was found dead in a bunk bed at the family home in Surrey on 10 August 2023. Her parents are now standing trial along with her paternal uncle Faisal Malik, 29.

Bone-chilling details of child abuse

According to British media reports, Urfan Sharif has taken full responsibility for what has happened. A postmortem had revealed that Sara had suffered 71 external injuries and many fractures on her body. She had also suffered a horrible neck injury that broke her hyoid bone. Burns and human bite marks were also found on her body by the doctors, The Guardian said. However, the father has distanced himself from having caused both, the report added.

Although little Sara's dead body was found on August 10, she was killed on August 8. The family fled to Pakistan following the incident, leaving behind a note with her lifeless body. The man called the British police from the safety of Pakistan to inform them that he “beat her up too much”.

Later, the cops retrieved a note from the girl's body, which, according to The Guardian, read “I swear to God that my intention was not to kill her. But I lost it.”

Why was Sara Sharif beaten by her father?

But why did he "lose it"?  From what he told jurors, Sharif was angry at Sara for soiling herself and vomiting. He admitted having beaten the minor “severely” over a number of weeks over the issue.

Sara was hit in the face for being sick at the breakfast table by the man. She was stopped from going to school because of the injury marks. He decided homeschooling would do for her as teachers spotting the obvious marks of assault would alert Sara's teachers.

Urfan Sharif confessed that the multiple fractures and injury marks on his late daughter's body were caused because of his assault using a white metal pole and a cricket bat although he never used fire to hurt her. He never bit the schoolgirl nor hit her in the neck -- causing the bone to break, Sharif maintained.

The murder-accused father maintains that he never wanted to kill Sara and the physical assault was an effort to “just discipline” the schoolgirl. The Guardian said that he took full responsibility for Sara’s death and admitted intending to cause Sara serious harm during the assault.
