A woman Uber Eats food delivery partner in the United State's New Jersey thought she was on his way to deliver a hungry customer a burrito on Friday night. However, midway she sensed something odd. The delivery on her backpack smelled like cannabis.

Taking no chance, the delivery person stopped midway and contacted Washington Township Police. The officers who arrived on the spot immediately found her doubts to be not baseless. The order that she picked up from  Lindenwold of New Jersey's Camden County was after all, raw marijuana covered in tinfoil. There was no burrito inside the pack which contained a bottle of water and soup alongside the cannabis, the Police said on social media while sharing an image of the "order."

One ounce (28 grams) of marijuana was packed in the tinfoil, US media reports said the cops as saying.

Who was behind the drug sale? Was a New Jersey eatery involved in the illegal trade? But then, would they take chances by selling cannabis through a random delivery guy? According to Washington Township Police, the order was not picked up from a restaurant. They suspect a network of unidentified drug rackets using the Uber app to deliver a package, according to police. They would have hoped to keep their anonymity intact by depending on a "third party" to get the job done.

However, no media reports mentioned details of the address/person to which the marijuana was supposed to be delivered. According to the probe team, the seized drugs are now in evidence, and an investigation is on.
