"Does he look like a terrorist? The arrest of innocent ISKCON brahmacharis is deeply shocking and disturbing," ISKCON Kolkata spokesperson Radharaman Das said in a post.
The arrested priest was identified as Shyam Das Prabhu.
Also, ISKCON has shared videos of its centre in Bangladesh vandalised by miscreants.
Meanwhile, nine people were arrested in connection with the killing of a lawyer during the clash that broke out between protesters and security personnel last week in Bangladesh after the arrest of Krishna Das.
A case was registered against 46 persons, mostly cleanliness workers belonging to the minority Hindu community, relating to the incident. The accused were identified by accessing the CCTV footage of the court premises.
Police said one person identified as Chandan Das was the primary accused as he was seen chopping the lawyer with a sharp weapon. The hunt for the rest of the accused is ongoing, he said.
Hindu monk Krishna Das was arrested on Monday on sedition charges. After denying bail, he was sent to judicial custody on Tuesday.
Days after his arrest, Bangladesh authorities ordered to freeze the bank accounts of people, including Das, associated with ISKCON. Bank accounts of 17 people associated with ISKCON will be frozen for 30 days, as per the order.
The Ministry of External Affairs expressed serious concern over the rising 'targeted' attacks among Hindus in Bangladesh, MEA urged the Bangladesh government to ensure the protection of all minorities.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also noted that several reports of incidents of violence against Hindus and other minorities have been reported since August.
