US: Indian student from Telangana shot dead in Chicago

An Indian student was shot dead by miscreants at a gas station near Chicago in the United States, where he was working. 

The student was identified as Sai Teja Nukarapu, 22, from Khammam district of Telangana. Sai was shot dead during the early hours (IST) of Saturday, said BRS MLC Madhusudan Thatha. 

Madhusudan Thatha had informed Sai's family about the incident. His parents said that Sai was not on duty when the incident happened but was helping a friend who asked him to stay for some time. 

Sai Teja completed his BBA in India and was pursuing MBA in the US. Sai was doing a part-time job along with his studies. It is sad to know that Sai Teja was shot dead when he stayed on at the place of work to help a friend, the relative said. 

The MLC said he spoke to the members of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) for help in the incident. The body is expected to reach India next week. 

In another incident, a 23-year-old student from India accidentally fired his gun and shot himself while celebrating his birthday in Atlanta. The incident occurred on November 13. The deceased was identified as Aryan Reddy, from Telangana's Bhuvanagiri district. 

It was reported that Reddy, a second-year student at Kansas State University, Atlanta, had taken the gun out for cleaning. 

Reddy's friends next door found him in a pool of blood.
